The definition of art is almost the exact definition I would use for logo design. See for yourself, I have replaced the word art with (logo design) below
According to Wikipedia Art (could put "logo design" here) is the product or process of deliberately arranging items (often with symbolic significance) in a way that influences and affects one or more of the senses, emotions, and intellect. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of expression, including music, literature, film, photography, sculpture, and paintings. The meaning of art (logo design) is explored in a branch of philosophy known as aesthetics, whereas disciplines such as anthropology, sociology and psychology analyze its relationship with humans and generations. Traditionally, the term art was used to refer to any skill or mastery. This conception changed during the Romantic period, when art (logo design) came to be seen as "a special faculty of the human mind to be classified with religion and science".[1] Generally, art (logo design) is made with the intention of stimulating thoughts and emotions.
In general this describes a significant aspect of how we approach logo design, website marketing and design, graphic design and branding, but especially logo design
Britannica Online defines art (logo design) as "the use of skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others." By this definition of the word, artistic works (logo designs) have existed for almost as long as humankind: from early pre-historic art (logo design) to contemporary art (logo design); however, some theories restrict the concept to modern Western societies. The first and broadest sense of art (logo design) is the one that has remained closest to the older Latin meaning, which roughly translates to "skill" or "craft."
We are the new artist, as logo designers and graphic designers we design communication architectures that must engage a wide range of people and cultures through time on a moving, competitive and evolving landscape. Moreover a logo is a single image that represents an entire company.
